Netflix has shared a new sneak peek of its upcoming romantic comedy “Take Charge of My Heart,” and the teaser ends with a startled Kim Young Kwang reaching for his phone to dial the police.
The preview opens with Chae Soo Bin’s Na Bo Bae waking up in a private hospital room to find Kim Young Kwang’s Baek Ho Rang in a bed a few feet away.
After failing to wake him, Na Bo Bae cautiously tests whether she can touch his skin without giving him an electric shock. Since being struck by lightning as a child, electrical currents run through her body, making it impossible for her to hold anyone’s hand without shocking them.
When Baek Ho Rang shows no reaction at all, a hopeful Na Bo Bae starts to wonder if she has finally found a man she can date. But as she leans in close, he startles her by opening his eyes — then starts dialing the police. Despite her hurried explanations, he repeatedly tells her to get out of his room.
Based on a web novel, “Take Charge of My Heart” follows a man whose artificial heart is running out of battery and a woman with the unique power to recharge him. Kim Young Kwang plays chaebol heir Baek Ho Rang; Chae Soo Bin plays screenwriter Na Bo Bae.
“Take Charge of My Heart” will premiere on October 9. No official statement was available beyond the preview itself.
