Go Young Wook, the former Roo’ra member convicted of sexually assaulting minors, is drawing renewed criticism after publicly mocking actress Kim Sa Rang’s appearance on social media.
According to Koreaboo, the disgraced star captured and reposted a recent photo of Kim Sa Rang, then criticized her looks in a post that quickly spread online.
“We’re from the same generation and I used to like her because her look wasn’t too intense,” he wrote. “But seeing her after a long time, her cheeks look like they’re about to burst.” He added, “These days, is it a trend to either have puffy cheeks or be bone-thin? That’s women for you.”
Kim Sa Rang’s side has not publicly responded to the remarks. No official statement was available as of this writing.
Go Young Wook was arrested and indicted in 2012 for sexually assaulting three minors between July and December of that year at his Seoul officetel and in his car. He served two and a half years in prison, and his electronic monitoring bracelet period ended in July 2018. He later opened a YouTube channel to communicate with the public, but it was shut down after heavy criticism and mass reporting. He has since remained active on social media, posting provocative messages aimed at celebrities including Lee Min Jung, Park Ha Sun, and Kim Ji Min.
The latest remarks have once again drawn public disapproval. Neither Go Young Wook nor Kim Sa Rang’s camp has issued any further comment.
