KATSEYE’s Manon has broken months of silence on Weverse, posting a two-word greeting on November 6 that instantly reignited debate over her future with the group — and HYBE moved quickly to cool the speculation.
Screenshots of the message, sent through Weverse DM under the username “Peanutbutterlover02,” began circulating on social media on November 6. The message read simply, “hi friends,” with no mention of her hiatus or the group. It was her first appearance on the platform since April, and it came a day after she posted an Instagram Story — her first flurry of social media activity in months.
Manon has been on a temporary hiatus from KATSEYE since February 20, 2026, stepping back to prioritize her health and well-being. The group has continued its activities without her ever since, and is currently promoting as four members while Sophia also takes a break — Sophia’s own hiatus was recently extended until January 2027. Over the past nine months, fans have fiercely debated whether Manon will ever return to the group.
Her last Weverse messages came in April 2026, when the teaser for “PINKY UP” was released without her present. At the time, Manon told fans she was having positive conversations with HYBE x Geffen Records. “HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon,” she wrote. A few weeks later, during KATSEYE’s Coachella performances as five, she sent further messages telling fans she loved and missed them — and then went quiet again.
The timing of her reappearance is what drew the most attention. Just hours earlier, KATSEYE had released statements on social media explaining a string of postponed shows on THE WILDWORLD TOUR. The group’s November 3 concert in Detroit was called off just 30 minutes before showtime, and more canceled dates quickly followed: Chicago on November 5 and Minneapolis on November 7. In an Instagram post, the KATSEYE members apologized to fans and confirmed that Megan is currently recovering from a concussion, which is why this week’s concerts cannot go ahead.
Fan reaction split sharply down the middle. Some were thrilled to hear from Manon again, reading the brief greeting as a sign that her hiatus could finally be coming to an end. Others were not as quick to celebrate, accusing HYBE of using Manon as “damage control” to shift attention away from Megan’s situation. “Here they go using Manon as damage control,” one fan wrote on X. “She suddenly pops up to distract everyone while that group is getting dragged to hell.” Others went further, suggesting the message may not have been posted by Manon herself at all, but by a member of staff — with some naming HYBE America senior director Missy Paramo. None of that speculation has been confirmed.
HYBE itself moved to temper expectations. The company told K-POPIT that Manon’s recent social media activity should not necessarily be interpreted as a sign of her return. “Her activities on Weverse and Instagram are personal, so it would be difficult to read any particular meaning into them,” a HYBE representative said, adding that there are currently no new updates regarding her status.
Manon, the Swiss-Ghanaian member of the six-member HYBE x Geffen group, has now missed most of KATSEYE’s biggest year yet: the “Wild” EP, the group’s Coachella debut, and THE WILDWORLD TOUR, its first arena run, which began on September 1, 2026 in Dublin and is set to conclude on November 28 in Mexico City across 31 shows. Her bandmates have consistently said the door remains open. Speaking as the group’s spokesperson in a June 2026 Allure cover story, Sophia said the members did not want to rush Manon or set anything in stone, adding: “She really deserves that, and the door is always open.”
For now, there is still no confirmed timeline for Manon’s return to group activities. But after seven months of near-total silence on Weverse, two words were enough to put her future back at the center of the conversation — and fans will be watching her accounts closely for whatever comes next.
