Lee Han Gyul Makes Solo Debut with Mini Album 'NOISE' Nine Years After IM, X1 and BAE173 cover

Lee Han Gyul has officially made his solo debut. The singer held a press showcase on October 14 at Red Button Culture Stage in Gangnam, Seoul, ahead of the release of his first mini album ‘NOISE’ at 6 PM KST the same day.

According to a report by Hankook Ilbo’s Jo Hye-jin, the singer — who has spent the past nine years cycling through multiple groups — said he was both nervous and excited to finally stand before the press as a solo artist.

The five-track album carries his resolve to make his own voice heard clearly amid the surrounding noise. Title track “BUNZI” is a Latin pop song driven by a heavy bass line, capturing the determination to leave fear and hesitation behind. The tracklist also includes “Yeet it x2,” “007,” “Zero Point,” and “Spit it OUT.” He described the title track as a song that makes you groove just by listening to it, and tipped fans to watch the stage performance with his dancers to feel its full charm.

“In the past, I was in so many teams,” he said at the showcase. “This is the first time I’m showing myself as a solo artist, so I’m excited and nervous.” Looking back on nine years of challenges, he added: “I want to tell my past self that the time I lived was not in vain. There were many failures, but they became experience, not poison.”

Lee Han Gyul first debuted in 2017 with the group IM, then joined project group X1 through Mnet’s “Produce X 101,” pre-debuted in the duo H&D alongside Nam Do-hyon, and debuted with BAE173 in 2020. He signed an exclusive contract with Orca Music in August this year.

‘NOISE’ and the “BUNZI” music video were released on October 14 at 6 PM KST.
