Park Sung Woong is set to command the screen as a legendary general. The upcoming drama “Sword & Silence” has unveiled new stills featuring the actor in full battle armor as Kim Yu Shin, Silla’s foremost general.

According to Soompi, the drama follows the story of how the small kingdom of Silla overcame the stronger states of Goguryeo and Baekje, along with China’s Tang dynasty, to unify the Three Kingdoms. The series is directed by Kim Yeong Jo, known for “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.”

Park’s character is described as an easygoing man who gets along comfortably with everyone regardless of rank, but who transforms into a formidable soldier with victory as his sole objective the moment he puts on his armor. He stars alongside Lee Hyun Wook as Kim Pom Min and Kim Kang Woo as Kim Chun Chu, his family and political allies in the monumental task of unification.

The production team praised the actor, saying, “Park Sung Woong is delivering a performance that makes it seem as though he has completely embodied the character of Kim Yu Shin, who possesses both dignity and humanity. Please look forward to the commanding performance he will deliver as Kim Yu Shin.”

The stills show both sides of the general: a steely gaze and unwavering determination in full armor, and warmth through hearty laughter and gentle smiles in everyday clothes. “Sword & Silence” is set to premiere on November 14 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
