Seo Ji Seung Opens up About Painful Breastfeeding Struggles After Giving Birth

Actress Seo Ji Seung got painfully honest about motherhood in a new video, revealing that the hardest part of having a baby wasn’t the birth itself.

The actress opened up on the YouTube channel of Model Han Hye Jin, which released a video titled “Pregnancy and childbirth behind the scenes revealed” on October 1st. Han Hye Jin visited the home of Seo Ji Seung and her husband, actor Lee Si Eon, where the couple is in the middle of full-time parenting.

Asked about her biggest struggle after childbirth, Seo Ji Seung named breastfeeding without hesitation. “Breastfeeding really hurts,” she confessed, adding, “I think it was more painful than giving birth.”

Seo Ji Seung also shared a story from their time at the postpartum care center. When she was in pain, Lee Si Eon told her, “It hurts, so stop now. You don’t have to do it.” Although he meant it for her well-being, she admitted she felt anger instead. “I wondered, ‘Is that really what you’re saying for my sake?’” she said, explaining that she felt he couldn’t understand the sacrifice she was making.

She wanted encouragement instead, like “Ji Seung, you’re doing great.” Looking back, she blamed her emotional ups and downs on hormones: “No matter what I do, hormones don’t obey me. I get really angry.”

Seo Ji Seung and Lee Si Eon began dating publicly in 2018 and married in December 2021. They welcomed their son, Sol Min, in May.
