MBC’s upcoming psychological thriller “The Perfect Lie” has unveiled a new teaser, throwing Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin into a fierce battle over the truth of one night.
According to Soompi’s report, the drama follows a man and a woman who offer completely opposite accounts of the same memory, clashing with each other in their search for what really happened.
The teaser opens with Kang Ji Sun (Seo Hyun Jin) and Min Joon Ho (Yoo Yeon Seok) on what looks like a perfect first date. The mood turns chilling fast, though: detective Lee Hwa Young (Ok Ja Yeon) remarks, “[They’re] definitely lying. A lie that is mixed subtly with the truth.” The caption teases that one of the two is lying.
The two leads trade accusations throughout the clip. Kang Ji Sun declares, “All of it is lies,” while Min Joon Ho insists, “I’ve never lied.” She also warns, “I can’t breathe,” as he demands, “What on earth do you want from me?” She ends the teaser cryptically: “I wanted to put everything back where it belonged, but…”
The drama is helmed by “You and Everything Else” director Jo Young Min. It also marks the reunion of Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, who starred together in the hit series “Dr. Romantic” 10 years ago.
“The Perfect Lie” premieres on October 30 at 9:50 p.m. KST. With both leads claiming the other is lying, viewers will have to decide which version of the night to believe.
