A2O LITE have earned the first music show trophy of their career just one week after debut. On October 20, the nine-member girl group took first place on SBS Life’s music program ‘The Show’ with their debut digital single ‘NEON,’ Star News reported.
The group officially debuted on October 13, releasing ‘NEON’ across online music platforms in Korea and abroad. Exactly seven days later, they secured the win on ‘The Show.’ Both Star News and allkpop highlighted that the victory is particularly striking because the group claimed first place with no album sales at all — purely on the song’s dominant performance across streaming charts. On the broadcast, the members delivered stable live vocals on their main stage and held their own during the encore, cleanly handling the song’s demanding high notes.
The win caps a chart run that has been one of the fastest for a rookie group in recent memory. ‘NEON’ topped Melon’s TOP100 chart just 29 hours after its release and has held No. 1 for six consecutive days since October 15. The single also took No. 1 on Spotify’s Korea chart and YouTube Music’s music video chart, reached No. 4 on Apple Music’s ‘Today’s Top 100: Global,’ claimed No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Singles charts in six regions, and swept the new song, popular song, and music video charts on China’s QQ Music. The pair choreography in the song’s intro has meanwhile gone viral on social media, spawning countless parody and AI-edited videos that have amplified the track beyond its official release.
A2O LITE and A2O SOUL are the groups launched by Lee Soo Man through A2O Entertainment — his first domestic project since leaving SM Entertainment. A2O LITE will continue their debut promotions on music shows this week together with A2O SOUL.
With a music show win already secured in their debut week, the group’s next trophies — and the staying power of ‘NEON’ — are now the numbers to watch.
