UKISS member Alexander is the new DJ of KBS World Radio’s weekday program “K-POP Connection,” taking over the slot from former host Brian Joo.
The news broke on October 11 when the announcement surfaced on Reddit’s r/kpop, and it is now reflected on the program’s official KBS WORLD page, which lists “DJ: Alexander” in its program info section.
According to the official listing, “K-POP CONNECTION brings you the latest hits and fan favorites from across the diverse world of K-pop.” The page introduces him as “Alexander of U-KISS” and says he will share music, stories, and K-pop and K-culture news with listeners around the world alongside the show’s guests.
“K-POP Connection” airs Monday through Friday with daily segments including Coffee or Tea?, What the K-pop, In Case You Missed It, Requests & Responses, Your 2 Cents, and Lights, Camera, Action. The show was previously hosted by Brian Joo, former member of the R&B duo Fly To the Sky.
Alexander, born in 1988, debuted with second-generation boy band U-KISS in 2008. Of mixed heritage with a Korean mother and a father of Portuguese and Chinese Macanese descent, he left the group in 2011 and rejoined for its 15th anniversary activities in 2023. He is no stranger to KBS World Radio, where he has also hosted the Weekend Playlist program.
No official statement from KBS with further details was available. Listeners can expect Alexander behind the mic on the weekday “K-POP Connection” broadcast.
