Breaking: LABOUM's Yujeong Announces December 12 Wedding to Same-Age Fiancé in Handwritten Letter

Former LABOUM leader Yujeong is getting married. The singer announced on October 8 that she will tie the knot with her same-age fiancé on December 12 in Seoul.

Yujeong shared the news herself through a handwritten letter posted on her social media. She wrote that she has met a partner she wants to spend her life with, and that the couple spent the past year quietly preparing at their own pace.

Her agency, DCL ENT, confirmed the wedding date and added that the ceremony will take place at a venue in Seoul. The agency said the groom-to-be works in the securities industry in Yeouido, and the two dated seriously for about two years.

In her letter, Yujeong described her fiancé as someone who cherishes her “like a daughter” and makes her feel loved every day. She said she feels comfortable and reassured by his side, and asked fans to support her new chapter as they did when she started over five years ago.

Yujeong debuted as LABOUM’s leader in 2014 and performed hits like “Journey to Atlantis,” “Aalow Aalow,” and “Hwi Hwi.” She left the group in September 2021 when her contract expired, and has since worked as a broadcaster — including as an MC on the military program ‘Wimun Train’ for five years and on TBN radio since January.

No word on whether former members will attend. The wedding is set for this December, and Yujeong says she plans to keep broadcasting after marriage.
