Breaking: PLAVE and Jessica Postpone Taiwan Concerts as Typhoon Chanpi Hits, Hualien Hallyu Festival Delayed cover

Typhoon Chanpi forced a wave of K-pop concert postponements across Taiwan on October 23, with PLAVE and Jessica rescheduling their Taipei shows and the 2026 Hualien Hallyu Original Sound Festival pushing its performances back a day.

OSEN confirmed the postponements on the 23rd, ChosunBiz reported, as Taipei and 20 other local governments ordered business and school closures while the storm approached. Taiwan’s Central Emergency Operation Center said the typhoon had caused one death and 94 injuries as of 6:30 a.m., with 1,286 residents evacuated and all domestic flights canceled. Rappler corroborated the shutdown: nearly 1,300 people evacuated and hundreds of flights canceled island-wide.

PLAVE had been set to play two nights at NTSU Arena (Linkou) on October 23 and 24 for its 2026 world tour “KEEP IT MANIC” in Taipei. The October 23 show now moves to 6 p.m. on October 25, local time. The October 24 concert is still on for now, but organizers warned it could shift again if closure orders are extended.

Jessica’s 2026 concert tour “Reflections,” set for October 24 at the National Taiwan University Sports Center’s first-floor performance hall, was pushed to 6 p.m. on February 20 next year. The decision was made over traffic and safety concerns from strong winds and heavy rain, even though no closure order had been issued for the 24th.

The 2026 Hualien Hallyu Original Sound Festival, slated to feature TNX, Xdinary Heroes, BTOB, Hyolyn, AtHeart, Lee Chaeyeon, Ryeowook and more, moved its October 24 and 25 shows one day later, to 7 p.m. on October 25 and 26. The venue, East Gate Square in Hualien City, stays the same.

With the storm still passing off Taiwan’s coast, fans heading to this weekend’s shows should watch for updated entry guidance from organizers before traveling.
