BTS's '2.0' Hits 200 Million Views, First ARIRANG Music Video to Reach Milestone cover

BTS has added another YouTube milestone to their long list. The music video for “2.0,” a B-side track from their fifth studio album “ARIRANG,” surpassed 200 million views on October 22, becoming the first music video from the album to reach the mark.

According to reports on October 23, the video crossed the 200 million mark on the evening of October 22 at approximately 9:30 p.m. KST, roughly six months and 20 days after its release on HYBE LABELS’ official YouTube channel on April 2. The achievement puts “2.0” ahead of the album’s other music videos: title track “SWIM” and fellow album track “Hooligan” have each surpassed 100 million views and are still climbing.

“2.0” was released as part of “ARIRANG,” BTS’s 14-track fifth studio album that dropped on March 20, with the music video arriving about two weeks later as the album’s second video release. The track is a hip-hop and trap number built on an irregular rhythm, singing about the change and growth that carried BTS into a new phase of their career. Its lyrics carry lines like “Yeah, like BTS — that’s easy to say / but we’re the ones jumping over the vaulting box every day,” reflecting the effort behind the group’s rise. The song also performed well on the charts, entering Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 50 on the April 4 chart and staying on the main songs chart for three more weeks, while reaching No. 94 on the UK’s Official Singles Top 100.

One of the video’s biggest talking points is its homage to director Park Chan-wook’s film “Oldboy.” Shot in a narrow hallway with a one-take technique, the sequence recalls the movie’s iconic hammer fight scene, set against a noir atmosphere. But BTS puts their own playful spin on the gritty setting: the members deliver humorous performances while wielding unexpected props — a back scratcher, a traditional Korean fan, and a danso, the Korean bamboo flute — turning the cinematic scene into something distinctly their own. The video’s shifting spaces tell a story too, opening in a worn-down elevator and a rough, abandoned building before arriving at a luxurious penthouse, a visual metaphor for the group’s journey from humble beginnings to the top of the global music industry.

Fans have been celebrating the milestone online, with comments like “Love ‘2.0,’” “Watching it every day,” and “The MV suits them so perfectly” pouring in. With five music videos out for “ARIRANG” and the group in the middle of their global tour, the question now is which video will be the next to join the 200 million club — and whether the title track “SWIM” can catch up to the B-side that beat it there.
