CLOSE YOUR EYES' Minwook and Yeojun's Reaction to Show Champion Loss Sparks Divided Reactions

The October 7 episode of Show Champion delivered a win — and an unintended viral moment.

According to Koreaboo, the nominees for the week’s trophy were ALLDAY PROJECT’s “CRASH,” BOYNEXTDOOR’s “ANIMAL,” CLOSE YOUR EYES’s “Drop That!,” CRAVITY’s “LOUDER,” and NiziU’s “Sour Grapes.” NiziU took home the win, marking their first trophy of this comeback.

The twist: Show Champion’s current MCs are CLOSE YOUR EYES’s Minwook and Yeojun — who were themselves among the nominees. Fans noticed the two idols’ reactions as the winner was announced, and the clip exploded, racking up over a million views.

Reactions split down the middle. Some viewers called the moment “unprofessional,” labeling the pair “sore losers.” Others argued a disappointed reaction was completely normal, saying the two handled an admittedly awkward situation — having to announce a loss while holding the mic — well.

No official statement from the show or the idols’ agency was available.

Either way, the moment has become one of the week’s most-discussed music show clips — proof that sometimes the trophy announcement gets more views than the winning stage.
