Jeon Yu-jin Named Singer of October as Trot Star Drops First Full Album 'Adios' on Her Birthday

Trot star Jeon Yu-jin is having quite the birthday. The singer has been named “Singer of October” in a TenAsia fan vote, and she is releasing her first full-length album, ‘Adios,’ on October 10 — her birthday — six years after her debut.

According to TenAsia’s report, the vote for “Singer of the Month — October Birthday Star” ran on the global voting platform TopTen from September 10 to 24. Jeon Yu-jin earned the most votes among October-born artists.

‘Adios’ drops on October 10 at 6 p.m. KST, Jeon’s first full album since she debuted in March 2020. The 12-track record carries double title songs, “Adios” and “Sarangmanhaso.”

The album comes with heavyweight support from trot royalty: Jang Yoon-jung participated in writing and composing “Sarangmanhaso,” while Seol Woon-do contributed to “Jaldoel Geoya Uri Modu.”

Jeon first drew attention by winning the grand prize at the 2019 Pohang Beach Song Festival. She rose to national fame through TV Chosun’s ‘Miss Trot 2’ and was crowned the inaugural winner of MBN’s ‘Hyunyeok Gawang’ in 2024, and has since been active on shows like ‘Hanil Gawangjeon’ and ‘Hanil Top Ten Show.’

Back in August, she held her second solo fan concert ‘TWENTY-ONE’ at Seoul’s Olympic Park Woori Financial Art Hall, premiering the new song “Naui Byeoldeurege” — released September 1 with lyrics she co-wrote. With the full album arriving on her birthday, all eyes are on what the 20-year-old trot star will deliver next.
