Ji Ye-eun and BATA’s December wedding now has a star-studded lineup: Yoo Jae-suk will host the ceremony, Kim Jong-kook will sing the congratulatory song, and BATA’s own crew We Dem Boyz will also perform, the couple’s ‘Running Man’ castmates revealed on the show’s October 25 episode.
The details came out during a cafe catch-up on SBS’s ‘Running Man,’ where Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, HaHa, Song Ji-hyo, Yang Se-chan and Ji Ye-eun gathered, according to Ilgan Sports. Yoo Jae-suk noted that Ji Ye-eun’s wedding invitations are already out, saying it was finally starting to feel real. Kim Jong-kook said he was grateful to be asked to sing, given how high the bar has been set, while Ji Suk-jin joked that he and Song Ji-hyo had been turned down for the singing slot.
Ji Suk-jin said he had only tossed out the idea casually, and Ji Ye-eun politely declined, saying she wanted the performance to be high quality. The exchange drew laughter from the cast, with Ji Suk-jin quipping that the rejection explained itself once the final lineup was announced. Sports Chosun’s preview of the same episode corroborated the lineup, reporting that Yoo Jae-suk will host and Kim Jong-kook will sing, while Ji Suk-jin and Song Ji-hyo’s hopes of performing were turned down.
The wedding is set for December in Seoul. The couple announced their marriage on MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ on October 17, where BATA said he has been taking one-on-one cooking lessons for his bride-to-be, explaining that being a good husband has long been his dream. He also recalled proposing with a Tiffany ring at her home. Both born in 1994, the pair reportedly first met at dancer Gabi’s birthday party and grew close through church before they started dating.
BATA, the leader of We Dem Boyz, is the choreographer behind global K-pop hits including JENNIE’s ‘like JENNIE’ and G-DRAGON’s ‘POWER,’ so a crew performance at the wedding fits the couple’s story. Ji Ye-eun, meanwhile, is a ‘Running Man’ cast member, which explains why so many of her co-stars are taking on roles at the ceremony rather than simply attending as guests.
No separate agency statement accompanied the broadcast; the lineup was shared by the cast on the show itself. With the host, singer and crew performance confirmed, the December ceremony is shaping up to be one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity weddings.
