Stray Kids' 'S-Class' Earns Third RIAJ Streaming Platinum in Japan with 100 Million Streams

Stray Kids' 'S-Class' Earns Third RIAJ Streaming Platinum in Japan with 100 Million Streams cover

Stray Kids have earned another major milestone in Japan, with “S-Class” receiving a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) after surpassing 100 million streams in the country. JYP Entertainment confirmed the achievement on Thursday, according to a report by Korea JoongAng Daily.

The certification covers streams counted in Japan as of September 2026. It is the group’s third streaming platinum certification from the RIAJ, following “Maniac” from the 2022 EP “Oddinary” and “Case 143” from the 2022 EP “Maxident.” “S-Class” is the lead track of Stray Kids’ third full-length album, “5-STAR,” released in 2023.

The timing gives the milestone added weight. The certification arrives just before Stray Kids begin a three-day concert series at Tokyo Dome on Friday as part of their ongoing “Run It” world tour. The group’s second performance, on Saturday, will be broadcast live in theaters around the world.

The Japan leg of the tour has already been a record-setting run. Stray Kids previously performed in Tokyo in August, when they became the first foreign male act to hold a solo concert at MUFG Stadium. The tour then moved through Nagoya and Osaka in September and Fukuoka in October, and the group is expected to draw about 520,000 audience members across 10 performances in Japan.

That scale helps explain why a 2023 title track is still adding streaming milestones. “S-Class” has remained one of the group’s signature songs since the “5-STAR” era, and its climb to 100 million plays in Japan underlines its staying power with Japanese listeners.

Stray Kids debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2018. The eight-member group built its commercial run on songs including “God’s Menu” in 2020, “Thunderous” in 2021, “Maniac” in 2022 and “Walkin on Water” in 2024, a run that has carried the group from domestic breakthrough act to a regular stadium-level touring force.

No further statement from the group beyond the agency announcement was reported. The RIAJ certification itself is the news: a third Japanese streaming platinum places “S-Class” alongside “Maniac” and “Case 143” as the group’s most-streamed songs in Japan under the association’s streaming system.

With the Tokyo Dome shows now imminent, the certification sets the stage for a high-profile weekend. Stray Kids will play to one of the country’s largest concert audiences, with Saturday’s cinema broadcast extending the second night far beyond the Dome itself.
