Kim Dong-hee is giving fans a rare glimpse of his present-day self. The actor, best known for playing one of the twin sons in the hit drama “SKY Castle,” shared behind-the-scenes photos from a recent photoshoot on his social media on October 17, cutting a noticeably more mature figure in a sharp, well-fitted suit.
The update was first reported by Sports Seoul on October 18. Kim posted the photos without any caption, letting the images speak for themselves as his latest public update.
It has been a long road back. After school violence allegations surfaced in early 2021 — accusing him of assaulting and bullying classmates during elementary school — Kim largely stepped away from domestic entertainment activities. His side initially filed defamation complaints against the accusers, but police issued a no-charge disposition, and the following year he released an official letter of apology.
“I argued with a classmate in the classroom when I was in fifth grade and we fought and were scolded by our teacher,” Kim wrote in that 2022 statement. “I thought we had been forgiven,” he added, acknowledging that assumption had been his alone. He also confirmed he had pushed and kicked the classmate in the chest during the fight, while denying claims that he had threatened anyone with scissors or a box cutter.
Kim debuted in 2018 through the web drama “A-Teen” and quickly became one of the most promising young actors of his generation, with memorable roles in “SKY Castle,” “Itaewon Class,” Netflix’s “Extracurricular,” and the film “Ghost.” The 2021 controversy halted that trajectory, and the film “You and My Season,” which had completed filming, has yet to be released.
Signs of a comeback have been building this year. In January, Kim signed an exclusive management contract with NEOS Entertainment, which confirmed it would fully manage his future activities, and in June he opened an official fan club in Japan. For now, his return remains centered on overseas stages — whether a domestic screen comeback follows is the question fans will be watching.
