The former girlfriend of singer-actor Kim Hyun-joong has begun a new chapter in entertainment. Identified in Korean media only as “A,” she has started official activities under the stage name “Siyu” (SEEU) as a TikTok creator with the TikTok live agency Lightning Central, Korean outlets reported on October 22.
According to AtStyle’s report, carried by Sports Chosun, Siyu’s agency said all legal disputes with Kim Hyun-joong concerning custody and parental rights of their child have now concluded. The agency described Siyu as “a responsible single mom who is proactively shaping her own life,” adding that she plans to focus on her upcoming activities.
Siyu has already opened a TikTok account where she shares glimpses of her daily life and hosts live broadcasts. Star News reported that she plans to expand beyond TikTok into beauty, health, and lifestyle content, building a broader creator career around her new stage name.
The news marks a significant turn for a figure who has remained largely out of the public eye for a decade. Siyu dated Kim Hyun-joong for roughly three years starting in 2012, a relationship that later exploded into one of the most contentious celebrity legal battles in Korean entertainment history. She filed an assault complaint against him in 2014, triggering years of criminal and civil litigation, including a damages suit and countersuit. While the lawsuits were ongoing, she gave birth to a son in September 2015; paternity testing confirmed Kim Hyun-joong as the father, and she has raised the child on her own.
The legal saga formally ended in 2020, when South Korea’s Supreme Court dismissed her damages claim and upheld lower court rulings ordering her to pay Kim Hyun-joong 100 million won (about $89,700) for defamation, finding no evidence to support her key claims.
Kim Hyun-joong married a non-celebrity woman in 2022 and has since welcomed two sons. Neither Kim Hyun-joong nor his agency has commented on Siyu’s new activities. For now, all eyes are on whether the creator, whose name was once synonymous with one of K-pop’s ugliest legal feuds, can build a second act on her own terms.
No official statement was available from Lightning Central beyond the remarks carried by AtStyle.
