Actor Lee Wan and professional golfer Lee Bo-mi are expecting their first child, a baby girl due next February. Lee Wan’s agency confirmed the news on October 28, turning last week’s report from Japan into an officially confirmed announcement in South Korea.
A representative of Lee Wan’s agency, Story J Company, told Spotv News on October 28 that Lee Bo-mi is due to give birth in February and that the baby is a girl. The confirmation settled the key details that had only been reported secondhand until then: the couple are expecting, the baby is their first child, and the birth is expected early next year.
Japanese sports newspaper Sports Hochi first reported the pregnancy on October 24. According to that report, Lee Bo-mi announced that she was expecting her first child at the Nobuta Group Masters GC Ladies event in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The announcement came at a golf event, and it was Lee Bo-mi herself who shared the news in person.
At the event, Lee Bo-mi said she felt grateful for the new addition to her family. “A new family has been born and I feel grateful. My husband is also very happy,” she said, according to the report. She also shared the baby’s nickname, “Lucky,” and added: “I imagine a child becoming a golfer, and me cheering the child on.”
Lee Wan and Lee Bo-mi married in December 2019, and the baby due next February will be their first child. That timeline is part of why the announcement has drawn attention: it is the first major family milestone the couple have shared publicly since their wedding.
Lee Wan debuted as an actor in 2004 in the SBS drama “Stairway to Heaven” and went on to appear in dramas including “Swallow the Sun” and “Snow White.” He is also known as the younger brother of actor Kim Tae-hee. Lee Bo-mi, meanwhile, has built her career as a professional golfer active in both South Korea and Japan, which is why her announcement at a tournament event in Japan carried weight in both countries.
With the February due date now confirmed by Lee Wan’s agency, the focus remains on the announcement itself: a first child, a baby girl, and a new chapter for a couple married since 2019.
