Won Bin Makes Rare Public Appearance in Cheongdam-Dong, Leaves TVXQ's Max Changmin Speechless cover

Actor Won Bin has made a rare “public appearance” — through the eyes of a starstruck fan. TVXQ’s Max Changmin shared his fanboy moment after spotting the famously reclusive actor in Seoul’s Cheongdam-dong.

According to Sports Chosun’s Lee Woo-joo, Changmin told the story in a recently uploaded episode of lecturer Lee Ji-young’s YouTube channel, where the two swapped tales of meeting impossibly good-looking celebrities. Lee recalled sharing a college class with Kim Tae-hee — and catching the actress’s reflection next to her own in a bathroom mirror, joking her own face had turned into a sea cucumber.

Changmin said he had a similar experience. The TVXQ member revealed he is a longtime admirer of Won Bin, saying he has watched the actor’s hit film “The Man from Nowhere” more than 50 times. While driving through the Cheongdam intersection, he felt an “aura” from several dozen meters away. “My car was stopped at a red light, and I felt an aura from far away. His face is so three-dimensional. But when I looked closer, it was Won Bin,” he said.

“He’s so handsome. He looked amazing in real life. I looked in the rearview mirror while driving, and my face was just a dotted line — like a face drawn in 2D,” Changmin said. The idol admitted he wanted to park and run over to greet the actor, traffic laws aside.

Changmin joked that becoming Won Bin’s acquaintance is one of his remaining goals in the entertainment industry.

Won Bin has kept an extremely low profile for years — Korean media describe a hiatus of about 16 years — so even a secondhand sighting like Changmin’s becomes a major talking point for entertainment fans. No official statement was available.
