Lee Joon Reveals He Was Hospitalized from Overwork During MBLAQ Days and All His Earnings Drained Away cover

Former MBLAQ member and actor Lee Joon has revealed just how brutal his idol-era schedule was — so brutal that he regularly fainted and was carried to the hospital — and that despite working nonstop, every won he earned “just drained away.”

The confession came on the October 9 broadcast of MBN’s “Jeon Hyun Moo Plan 4,” where Lee Joon joined Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Jun-bin to look back on his career, per OSEN.

Lee Joon said idols “practically film while fainting,” recalling that he was carried to hospitals and kept collapsing. At his busiest, he filmed “We Got Married” while shooting a drama and promoting with MBLAQ — plus movie shoots and music-show MC gigs. While playing a psychopath in “Gapdong,” he was also a “virtual husband,” an MC, and a dancing idol. “What I remember is that I couldn’t walk on my own,” he said.

When Jeon Hyun-moo asked if all that work made him rich, Lee Joon’s answer was unexpected: “Not really. Back then, my family was struggling.” He confessed, “All the money I earned just drained out. Whenever I earned some amount, it went right back out,” saying he never got the chance to save anything.

Lee Joon broke out after his “Ninja Assassin” audition took him to Hollywood at 20, before debuting with MBLAQ and juggling acting and singing. He closed with laughs over his frugal habits — including using one towel for ten days: “When it dries, isn’t it a new towel?”
