Popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo is returning to drama soundtracks. His new song “Such Days” (Geureon Nanaldeul), recorded for the KBS2 weekend drama “Love Comes” (Sarang-i Onda), will be released on October 17 at 6 p.m. KST on major music platforms, Korean media including Yonhap News reported.
“Such Days” is a modern popera ballad built on gentle piano melodies and warm string arrangements. The song captures the shy yet overwhelming emotions of love arriving like fate into a quiet life, coloring each passing day with new hues. Lim carries the track with delicate, clear vocals and carefully controlled dynamics, blending love and longing into a melody that pairs a classical atmosphere with a contemporary ballad sensibility.
The song was written and composed by producer duo Bad Boss and Kaiser, whose credits include work with Steelheart, Jeon Sang-geun, Kim Junsu and Jung Dong-ha, as well as drama OSTs for “Queen of Mystery,” “The Emperor: Owner of the Mask,” “Rude Miss Young-ae,” “Blow Breeze” and “Glamorous Temptation.” The OST is produced by Yogurt Studio, which said the track was designed to support the drama’s lyrical mood and emotional line.
Yogurt Studio described Lim as a pioneer of Korean popera who has performed on world stages, saying his ability to move between classical and pop would further elevate the drama’s lyrical mood and sense of immersion. Bad Boss told Ilgan Sports the song was created with Lim in mind from the very beginning, adding that the two sides had long talked about working together before the collaboration came together naturally.
Lim has built his career on popera, moving between classical and popular music on stages at home and abroad. His last drama OST appearance was about six years ago, when he sang “Yeongwon” and “Cheonnyeoneul Harugatyi” for the 2020 TV Chosun drama “Wind, Clouds and Rain.”
“Love Comes” is a KBS2 weekend drama about warm family love and the meaning of true love, starring Ha Seok-jin as Kim Moo-jin and Ahn Hee-yeon as Han Gyu-young, alongside Park Yoo-na and Bae Jung-nam. The series currently ranks first in terrestrial weekend ratings.
“Such Days” arrives on October 17, marking Lim’s first drama soundtrack in six years and his latest step bridging classical vocals and mainstream K-drama music.
