NCT WISH's 'I SPY' Takes First Music Bank Win with 8,352 Points Against Sung Han Bin's 'UNDEAD' cover

NCT WISH has won their first music show trophy for “I SPY.”

On the October 23 episode of KBS2’s “Music Bank,” the candidates for first place were NCT WISH’s “I SPY” and Sung Han Bin’s “UNDEAD.” After the scores were tallied, NCT WISH came out on top with a total of 8,352 points, as reported by Soompi.

The score breakdown shows where the group pulled ahead. According to TopStarNews, NCT WISH earned 477 points in digital music, 2,992 points in broadcast frequency, 538 points in K-pop fan voting, 4,312 points in album sales, and 33 points in social media — adding up to 8,352.

Leader Sion gave the acceptance speech on behalf of the six members — Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya — and turned the spotlight on the fans. “I know the fans worked so hard to give us this award, so I really want to thank you,” he said. “We’ll become an NCT WISH that repays you with cool stages. Thank you.”

The group celebrated with an encore performance of “I SPY.” The live vocals drew a wave of online chatter, with users on Korean community sites theqoo and Instiz calling the singing shaky. The debate did not take away from the milestone, as congratulatory messages from fans poured in across social media.

The win caps a dominant comeback week for the SM Entertainment group. “I SPY,” the group’s fourth mini album released on October 12, sold over 1.2 million copies on its first day, making NCT WISH a million-seller for the fourth consecutive release. The album topped Hanteo Chart’s weekly ranking and took both the Circle Chart weekly album and retail album crowns. It also ranked No. 1 on the Global K-chart — which combines data from Korea’s Melon, China’s Tencent Music, and Japan’s Line Music — for the week of October 12 to 18. The success follows the group’s first full-length album “Ode to Love,” released in April.

NCT WISH will keep promotions rolling with an appearance on KBS2’s “The Seasons” hosted by Sung Si-kyung, followed by MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on October 24 and SBS’s “Inkigayo” on October 25.
