One Hundred CEO Cha Ga-won Denies 30 Billion Won Fraud Charges at First Trial cover

One Hundred label CEO Cha Ga-won has denied all charges in his first trial over an alleged 30 billion won fraud case.

According to the original report by Sports Kyunghyang, Cha’s lawyer told the Seoul Central District Court on October 13 that “we deny all facts stated in the indictment.” Cha, who is in custody, appeared wearing a mask. The case was heard by Criminal Division 23.

Prosecutors allege Cha pitched a joint business deal to Nomer Inc. using his agency artists’ intellectual property rights, took a 24.2 billion won advance, and never carried out the business. He was indicted in custody in August.

A second allegation involves a 5.4 billion won jeonse deposit. Prosecutors say Cha agreed with an acquaintance to sign jeonse contracts on each other’s homes, took the deposit, and never honored the deal. His side also argued a compensation order filed by the alleged victim, identified only as Jang, should be dismissed.

Cha, a former real-estate development company chairman, co-founded One Hundred with singer MC Mong in 2023. MC Mong left last July after a conflict, leaving Cha to run it alone.

The roster is in turmoil. The Boyz, Lee Seung-gi, Lee Mu-jin, Viviz, EXO members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin, and Kim Dae-ho have all notified the label of contract termination over unpaid settlements.

No additional hearing date was reported. The court continues the case with the denials on record.
