RESCENE's Woni Aims for No. 1 with New Album 'PULSE' After 'LOVE ATTACK' Reverse-Run Success cover

RESCENE member Woni has raised the bar for the group’s upcoming comeback, saying she now wants a No. 1 with their new album — a far cry from the days when she would have settled for the top 100.

On October 17, a video titled “Unnie, did you go to the shoot without me?” was uploaded to Woni’s YouTube channel “Annyeonghaseyo Woni-imnida Jalbutakdeurimnida” (Hello Woni, Please Take Care of Me). In the video, the RESCENE members looked back on the channel’s activities over the year, reflected on this year’s work, and shared plans for the future.

Discussing the new album, Woni said, “Since this is truly our song coming out now, I want to be number one.” When the production crew asked whether she had always felt the same way, she answered honestly: “No. Back then, I just wanted to be in the top 100. I originally thought it would be nice if our song played at a cafe when I was out. But now, I want to be number one.”

The members also revisited how far the channel — and the team — have come. Woni recalled first meeting the YouTube production crew in January with the worry, “What if it doesn’t work even after doing all this?” Zena remembered being told “you’re next” for the April episode and feeling so nervous she thought it was a lie, while Minami said March’s gyaru-themed episode carried heavy pressure. After the May episode from Geoje took off, Woni found herself checking view counts “by the minute” and hope began to grow.

“After that, schedules kept increasing. I shot commercials, and there were RESCENE photos on the street. It felt like I closed my eyes and opened them to a changed world,” Woni said. “It still feels like a dream.” Minami added a grounded note: “This moment won’t last forever. Starting from nothing never scared me, but now I hope the people here never leave.”

The channel’s “Geoje Yah-ho” meme lit the fuse for the reverse-run success of “LOVE ATTACK,” first released in August 2024, which climbed to No. 1 on music charts and earned RESCENE its first music show win. “Deja Vu,” “Pinball,” and “Runaway” rode the renewed spotlight, and July’s special single — a remake of KARA’s “Pretty Girl” — kept both tracks in the upper ranks. On September 16, Minami told MBC’s “Radio Star” the group had received more than 100 advertising inquiries since the reverse-run.

According to Hankyung’s reporting on October 13, RESCENE wrapped the music video shoot for their new song and will release their fourth mini album “PULSE” on November 3 — their first physical album since the reverse-run took off.

With “PULSE” around the corner, Woni said the group is ready to take on the bigger challenge — this time aiming straight for the top.
