Seo Jang Hoon has finally put a number on his famous real-estate portfolio. On the October 9 broadcast of SBS’s “Secretary Team,” the former basketball star revealed that he owns three buildings — and credited his parents for saving every won he earned during his playing career.

The topic came up while Lee Seo Jin and Kim Kwang Kyu served as his secretaries for the day. When Kim teased that his fortune must be in the “thousands of billions” of won, Seo brushed it off, explaining that a joke by Kim Hee Chul on “Knowing Bros” had snowballed into a rumor that he was worth two trillion won.

Seo said about five or six out of every hundred people seem to believe the two-trillion-won claim. “I never spent what I earned as a player,” he confessed. “My parents saved it all, so it just kept piling up, and it grew from there.” Apart from his monthly food-delivery bill, he spends almost nothing on himself — and even tries to cut his electricity usage.

The MC also revealed he now anchors eight fixed variety programs: “My Little Old Boy” and “Knowing Bros” have each passed the ten-year mark, and “Same Bed, Different Dreams” is nearing a decade. “It’s pure luck,” he said. “My strength is that I don’t get tired. I try to speak honestly from a viewer’s perspective.”

Lee Seo Jin marveled afterward that Seo only headlines shows — a run that began with simply never touching his basketball earnings.
