Seo Jang-hoon Tells 'Ask Anything' Guest to Stop Blaming Saju for Ruined Relationships on KBS JOY Show cover

Seo Jang-hoon told an ‘Ask Anything’ guest to stop letting saju dictate her life, after she claimed studying Korean fortune-telling had destroyed her relationships.

According to NewsEn, the segment aired on KBS JOY on October 12. The 46-year-old nursing assistant said she turned to saju after a rough childhood — her mother had strong intuition, and her father’s alcoholism left the family struggling financially.

She described a string of bad relationships: at 21, her first love — seven years her senior — cheated on her; at 25, she dated a well-known neighborhood gangster and entertainment business owner who was ‘severely gaslighting and violent.’ Her longest relationship lasted 10 years but never moved toward marriage.

Hearing she had only dated bad men, Seo asked, ‘Then maybe your intuition isn’t that good?’ When she mentioned the gangster ex, he was blunt: ‘Regardless of dreams, intuition, or saju — if he was a gangster, shouldn’t you not have dated him?’

Co-host Lee Soo-geun urged her not to ‘put a saju frame’ on people, noting her exes could just as easily blame her for their bad luck. She admitted she often warns friends about their boyfriends’ cheating based on saju, straining those friendships too.

Seo pressed her on whether she still dreamed of marriage — she said she’d given it up while studying saju. ‘You’re in trouble,’ he said. ‘If you want to live happily, throw away precognitive dreams, intuition, and saju altogether.’
