Shin Min-a, Lee Jin-wook, and Yoo Teo Lead MBC's Adult Romance Drama 'Soo-Mok-Geum' for 2027 cover

MBC has confirmed Shin Min-a, Lee Jin-wook, and Yoo Teo as the leads of its new Friday-Saturday drama “Soo-Mok-Geum,” announcing the casting on November 5. The 12-episode series is scheduled to air in the first half of 2027, NewsEn reported.

Set in a restaurant, “Soo-Mok-Geum” tells a story of love, forgiveness, and growth about a second love with a first love who returns after 12 years. The title itself refers to Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the only three days of the week when the drama’s restaurant opens its doors.

Shin Min-a plays Cha Eun-soo, a woman who returns to her first love from 12 years ago while hiding her true intentions. After parting from that first love, Eun-soo has lived as another man’s wife, yet she continues to long for the life she truly wants.

Lee Jin-wook plays Kim Dong-woo, the chef of the restaurant “Soo-Mok-Geum.” Dong-woo has lived a dry, restrained life while carrying the memory of a first love he could not keep. He works only three days a week and spends the other four doing nothing, until Eun-soo walks back into his restaurant and disrupts the quiet routine he had built around that loss.

Yoo Teo completes the central triangle as Lee Won-pil, Eun-soo’s husband and an executive at Hanku Construction. Won-pil has ability and wealth but does not know how to love, and his unusual way of protecting someone adds tension to the story. No additional statement from the cast members was included in the announcement report.

Behind the camera, the series brings together director Jung Dong-yoon, known for “Gyeongseong Creature” and “Stove League,” and writer Joo Hyun, known for “The World of the Married” and “Ms. Ma, Nemesis.” Creator Kang Eun-kyung, whose credits include the “Romantic Doctor” series and “King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo,” has also joined the project.

The casting news arrives just one day after Shin Min-a’s latest project reached audiences. She stars as Empress Navier in the Disney+ series “The Remarried Empress,” released on November 4 alongside Ju Ji-hoon and Lee Jong-suk. Shin Min-a has been in a public relationship with actor Kim Woo-bin since 2015, and the two married in December 2025.

MBC has not yet announced a more specific premiere date beyond the first-half 2027 window. With its leads confirmed, “Soo-Mok-Geum” is one of the network’s notable upcoming romance dramas to watch.
