KBS2’s weekend melodrama “A Love Other Than Yours” ended on November 1 with a clean break for its central couple: Namgung Ho, played by Seo Kang-joon, and Lee Mi-do, played by Ahn Eun-jin, ended their 10-year relationship and each began a new romance, Ho with Park Soo-ah and Mi-do with Han Tae-seung.

According to Sports Kyunghyang, which reported the finale on November 2, the last episode followed the pair through a month of dating other people before their final parting. The report called the ending both happy and lingering, with both characters choosing new beginnings over a reunion.

Han Tae-seung, played by Lee Joo-ahn, visited Mi-do and pressed her for certainty, saying she had made him expect more and asking for a clear answer if she did not want to hurt him. Mi-do answered by kissing him, and he kissed her back, confirming them as a couple.

Ho, returning after two years, went first to Park Soo-ah, played by Jo A-ram, saying he had returned because he could not erase his feelings for her. After she challenged him, he kissed her, and Soo-ah told him how much she had missed him, marking the start of their relationship.

Ho and Mi-do then took a last trip to the beach where Mi-do’s father once saved Ho. There they rescued a child who had fallen into the water, and sitting side by side at a bus terminal, calling each other’s names, they closed their long, tangled romance for good.

Mi-do’s farewell summed up the message: she told Ho their meeting was not a curse but a miracle, and that if he ever regretted surviving, he should remember the child they saved together. Ho, who had called himself a curse on her life, wept. No official statement from KBS or the production team accompanied the finale report.

The series centered on a couple together for 10 years who agreed to spend one month dating other people before deciding their future, hoping to recover excitement buried under familiarity. The finale resolved the two pairings that experiment produced in the opposite direction from the original couple.

With the finale aired, both leads leave the story in new relationships, closing a run that began by asking whether familiarity had replaced love.
