Son Suk-ku and Nagayama Eita Chase Cross-Border Murders as Netflix Sets November 20 Release for 'Puleun Gil' cover

Netflix has locked in November 20 for ‘Puleun Gil,’ its hard-boiled Korea-Japan crime series, revealing two posters and a trailer. The series reunites ‘D.P.’ director Han Jun-hee with Son Suk-ku, who plays a Seoul detective opposite Nagayama Eita’s Tokyo investigator.

Per MHN’s report, the story follows Kim Seok (Son), a detective with Seoul’s mobile investigation unit, and Inose (Nagayama) of Tokyo’s police investigation division as they chase gruesome murders — twisted corpses, mysterious Korean and Japanese messages — repeating across borders.

The trailer opens with both detectives rushing to a crime scene, bone-cracking sound effects over their grim descriptions of the evidence, and blood-written messages flashing alternately in Korean and Japanese. Kim Shin-rok co-stars as Lee Yoon-ok, a charismatic Korean-Japanese businessman, alongside a cryptic tiger painting whose meaning is still unclear.

The posters carry the tagline “Twisted corpse, mysterious message, bizarre murders across borders,” and one trailer beat shows a bloodied Kim Seok on the ground with Inose staring coldly down — hinting at tension between the mismatched partners.

The pairing has real pedigree. Han’s ‘Pilot’ drew 4.71 million admissions, while Son broke out with 2022’s ‘The Roundup’ (12.69 million) and ‘My Liberation Notes.’ The two previously teamed on ‘D.P.’ and ‘Hit-and-Run Squad.’ The series was invited to BIFF’s ‘On Screen’ section, with Han, Son, Nagayama, and Kim Shin-rok set to appear in Busan.

‘Puleun Gil’ premieres November 20 on Netflix.
