October 14 marks the seventh anniversary of the death of Sulli, the f(x) member and actress remembered for her bright “peach smile,” with fans and Korean media marking the day.

According to a memorial piece by MyDaily, Sulli was found dead at her home in Seongnam, Gyeonggi on October 14, 2019, at the age of 25. Her manager, unable to reach her after a call the previous day, found her and alerted police. A handwritten memo was found at the scene, and the autopsy found no signs of foul play.

She had been working until the end: the memorial noted she was filming a commercial the day before her death, with a broadcast shoot scheduled for the day itself. Her sudden passing shocked the entertainment industry, with showcase events cancelled or postponed in mourning.

Sulli began as a child actress in the drama “Seodongyo” before debuting with f(x) in 2009, scoring hits like “LA chA TA,” “Hot Summer,” “Electric Shock,” and “Rum Pum Pum Pum.” After leaving the group in 2015, she acted in the film “Real” (2017), featured on DEAN’s “Dayfly” (2018), released the single “Goblin” (2019), and made a cameo in tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna.”

Her legacy continued after her death. The posthumous project “Persona: Sulli” premiered at the 28th Busan International Film Festival in 2023 before landing on Netflix, pairing the short film “4: Clean Island” with the documentary “To Jinri,” which shared candid interviews recorded during her life.
