Mark your calendars for ITZY member Chaeryeong’s solo debut. On October 19, the singer unveiled the trailer, promotion schedule and track list for her first solo album “Lovesick,” as reported by Soompi.
Chaeryeong will release the solo debut album “Lovesick” together with the music video for its title track of the same name on November 9 at 6 p.m. KST. The physical version of the album will be released in the United States on November 13 at 2 p.m. KST, and she will also release an English version of the title track “Lovesick.”
The album is a four-track release featuring the title song “Lovesick” alongside three b-sides: “Moonlit Club,” “Scent” and “Favorite Reason,” according to tracklist details published by music outlets. The title track was written by Choi Si-yoo and Wang Se-yoon of Swedish Laundry, with composition by mOnSteR nO.9 and Jonna Hall and arrangement by mOnSteR nO.9. “Moonlit Club” features lyrics by Ban Ye-ji of ARTiffect, while “Scent” brings together lyricists Kwon Ye-rim and Hong Ra-im of 153/Joombas. The closing track “Favorite Reason” is particularly notable for Chaeryeong’s own involvement — she shares lyric-writing credit with Lee An of ARTiffect.
JYP Entertainment first confirmed Chaeryeong’s solo plans to Dispatch on August 27, saying she was preparing an album with a November release goal. Chaeryeong will launch her solo career roughly seven years and nine months after debuting with ITZY in February 2019, and she becomes the third member of the group to release a solo album, following Yeji and Yuna. The group’s main dancer has earned praise for her fluid dance lines, and she recently contributed the solo track “Undefined” to ITZY’s May mini album “Motto.” ITZY is currently on its third world tour, “Tunnel Vision,” which opened in Seoul in February. In March, Chaeryeong’s powerful performance of ITZY’s track “That’s a No No” sparked renewed interest in the song and gave the group another boost, a reminder of the stage presence she now brings to her solo work.
With the trailer and promotion schedule now public, more teaser content is expected in the weeks leading up to the November 9 release, as Chaeryeong prepares to introduce herself as a solo artist nearly eight years into her career.
