Watch: Kim Yoon-seok and Koo Kyo-hwan Clash Over a Dead Body in 'White Blast' Main Trailer Ahead of November 18 Release cover

Distributor Showbox unveiled the main trailer for the mystery thriller “폭설” — referred to in English-language coverage as “White Blast” — on October 21, confirming the film will open in theaters on November 18. The clip locks veteran actor Kim Yoon-seok and Koo Kyo-hwan into a tense, snowbound standoff at a rural train station.

The trailer opens with Gap-su (Kim Yoon-seok), a stationmaster nearing retirement, preparing for his final shift at Seol-o Station after learning his replacement’s arrival will likely be delayed. Instead, he finds Hyeon-taek (Koo Kyo-hwan) already waiting in the station office — “I didn’t hear a car,” Gap-su mutters, setting an uneasy tone. While handing over duties, the two discover a mysterious body in a tunnel. Hyeon-taek insists they should report it to the police — and Gap-su suddenly points a gun at him instead.

Lieutenant Choi (Park Soo-young) and Officer Yang (Roh Yoon-seo), dispatched after receiving a call, find themselves stranded by the heavy snowfall, leaving the investigation in limbo. As the standoff continues, Gap-su delivers the cryptic line, “Seol-o Station is busy today. Isn’t it?” while Hyeon-taek pleads, “Please hear me out, sir” — an exchange that underscores how little the two men can afford to trust each other. The film follows a stationmaster on the verge of retirement and his newly arrived successor after they stumble onto a corpse at a station cut off by a blizzard.

The film is co-directed by Hong Eui-jeong, whose debut feature “Voice of Silence” drew critical acclaim, and Park Sun-woo, with Sportschosun reporting Louis Pictures as the production company. English-language coverage notes the film blends suspense with dark humor. This is the second trailer drop for the project: Showbox unveiled the first official trailer on October 1 with a November release window, making the new main trailer the first confirmation of the exact date — November 18.

Korean outlets have framed the film’s main draw as the collision of two very different screen presences — Kim Yoon-seok, an actor known for the intensity he brings to a drama, and Koo Kyo-hwan, who has built a run of unpredictable characters. The first teaser, released October 1, opened with the pair inspecting snow-covered tracks before discovering the body, escalating into a physical confrontation with one accusing the other: “You killed him, didn’t you?”

The film opens in theaters on November 18.
