Rookie boy group DAILY:DIRECTION have returned with their first mini album “WHICH WAY,” releasing the record along with the music video for its title track of the same name.
The six-member ODDWAVE act — EN KIM, Kim Joo-hyoung, Lim Ji-hwan, E-VAN, Lee Won-woo and Jang Yoon-seok — dropped the six-track album on October 14 at 6 PM KST through major music platforms, with the “WHICH WAY” MV arriving on the group’s official YouTube channel. The group marked the release with a showcase in Seoul on the afternoon of October 14.
The album is built around the theme of love and poses the question of which way to go on a journey taken together. Alongside the title track, it carries five more songs — “IF YOU SAY SO,” “TRAPPED,” “DOWN WITH IT,” “WHO I AM,” and the prerelease single “UP” — spanning alternative, hip-hop, trap, electronic, indie pop and punk. The title track blends alternative hip-hop and rock into a polished pop sound, telling the story of six members with different personalities finding their own directions while walking the same road.
At the showcase, the members explained how the album’s Cupid concept came together. “We hold meetings together before releasing an album,” they said. “We wanted to express love in our own colors, and we thought Cupid was a being that could give a sense of fantasy.” They added that the title track’s stage was built for fans to join in: “It’s a stage where those watching can jump around with us, and there are many parts that are easy to follow.”
The new EP marks DAILY:DIRECTION’s first release eight months after their February debut with the single “FIRST:DELIVERY.” No official statement was available on upcoming music show promotions.
