Xdinary Heroes is bringing their new title track “Obsessed with Youth” to live music show stages, starting with Mnet’s “M Countdown” on October 15, according to JYP Entertainment.
The band will begin promotions with the October 15 broadcast of “M Countdown,” followed by KBS2’s “Music Bank” on October 16 and MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on October 17, where they will perform the new song live. The stage run marks the start of full music show promotions for their comeback, as reported by Newsen.
The comeback itself arrived on October 12 with the release of their ninth mini album “IMPULSE” — the group’s first new music in six months, following April’s mini album “DEAD AND.” All seven tracks on the record feature songwriting participation from the five members — Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Jooyeon. The lineup also covers the B-sides “Give Up The Ghost,” “Slashhh!,” “u and me in arguments,” “You Right There,” “Love in dystopia,” and “Breathe in, Breathe out.”
The title track “Obsessed with Youth” is an EDM rock song that pairs lyrical, dreamy synths with explosive band energy, singing of youth’s thrill and instability. The Korea JoongAng Daily noted the seven-track EP spans acoustic arrangements to heavy rock, with O.de describing “Breathe in, Breathe out” as a song reworked into a more delicate acoustic color, while Gaon called “u and me in arguments” a heavy rock track driven by explosive band sounds. Fans have responded warmly to the album, saying the freedom, wandering, and passion of youth can all be felt in one record, and that it offers comfort to anyone facing the storms hidden behind youth’s brilliance.
Speaking through their agency, the members said the song carries a refreshing, bright mood, adding that they focused on letting each member’s instrumental and vocal energy shine naturally so the sincerity of every moment reaches the audience without filter.
Debuting in 2021, Xdinary Heroes earned the nickname “genre melting pot” for their steady stream of self-written genre-blending tracks. Their stage experience has grown on big international platforms, from Lollapalooza Chicago to the 2025 Busan International Rock Festival and an opening slot for British rock band MUSE’s Korea concert. The group will also hold a three-day solo concert titled “IMPULSE” at Inspire Arena in Incheon from November 13 to 15.
