Yang Hong-won Affair Scandal: Woman Accuses Whistleblower of Extorting Money, Releases DM Evidence cover

The woman whose identity was exposed in rapper Yang Hong-won’s cheating scandal has accused the whistleblower who first raised the allegations of demanding money to delete her personal information, releasing alleged direct-message exchanges as evidence and saying she has filed a criminal complaint.

According to Sports Kyunghyang’s October 24 report, the woman posted a statement on her social media, saying the exposer’s claims “differ a lot from what I experienced and remember” and laying out her own version of what happened that night.

In the released messages, the woman confronted the exposer, identified as “A,” asking, “Is this blackmail? You were the one who told me to go with him — this was all planned, right?” A allegedly replied, “Then why don’t you pay a clean 50 and end this? I’ll delete all your information.” The woman said the exposer threatened her for money and, when she refused to pay, went public instead. Sports Kyunghyang noted the authenticity and full context of the released conversations have not been independently verified.

She also explained how she ended up at the motel with Yang. She said she had no prior acquaintance with the singer and that A kept pressuring her to follow him there, promising to contact her later. The singer looked uncomfortable but was drunk, she said, and she followed believing A would call soon. “Nothing happened — he slept on the bed, and I slept on the floor,” she said, denying claims of drinking games involving physical contact.

The woman said she now believes she was used in a staged scheme to extort money, and that the exposure of her face and social media account has hurt her family as well. She said she regrets misjudging the situation while drunk and asked the public to help bring the matter to a quick end.

The scandal broke on October 23, days after Yang’s wedding, when A alleged on social media that Yang had gone to a motel with another woman, publishing her photos and SNS account. Agency AP Alchemy confirmed the motel visit but denied any intimate acts, saying A’s materials were maliciously edited and that A had threatened both Yang and the woman for money. Yang and the woman have each filed criminal complaints against A for extortion, stalking-law violations, and defamation by false facts. No response from A to the woman’s latest claims was available in the report.
