Former Hello Venus member Yoo Ara has revealed that she suffered a cruciate ligament injury after fainting at dawn, announcing the news herself on her social media account on October 15.
According to a report by MHN Sports, the 35-year-old actress posted a photo of herself receiving physical therapy on her personal account, sharing the injury news directly with fans.
She explained the circumstances of the accident in her post. Woken up before dawn by her dog barking, she got up and suddenly felt dizzy before falling. âI donât remember it well, but the back of my head was slightly cut and bled, which was fine. But my knee hurt so much that I almost cried on the way to the hospital, and it turned out to be a cruciate ligament injury,â she wrote.
Addressing herself in the post, she added, âYoo Ara, just live normally. Youâre 35 already. Why is every day so hard?â No official statement from a management agency was available, as she has been independent since her exclusive contract ended.
Yoo Ara debuted in May 2012 as a member and leader of Hello Venus, earning praise for her stable vocals, and appeared on tvNâs singing show âPerfect Singerâ in 2013. She left the group alongside Yoonjo in 2014 and transitioned to acting, appearing in dramas including âGolden Rainbowâ and âSuper Daddy Yeolâ, as well as the musical âThe Moon Embracing the Sunâ.
In 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and had undergone urgent surgery to remove a malignant tumor. She has since been focusing on recovery while communicating with fans through her personal account.
She has not shared a treatment timeline yet, and fans will likely be watching her account for updates on her recovery.
