Yoo Jae-suk Stunned as Legendary Voice Joins '95 Seoul Music Festival' Auditions on 'Hangout with Yoo' cover

MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo” is kicking off a brand-new music festival tonight, and the first audition has already delivered a surprise that left Yoo Jae-suk speechless.

According to News1’s October 10 report, the episode airing at 6:30 p.m. will unveil the first preliminary listening session of the show’s new “‘95 Seoul Music Festival” segment, following last year’s “‘80s Seoul Music Festival.” Contestants with distinctive vocal colors line up, including performers recognizable by voice alone.

Then a “legendary voice” rings out, and the cast freezes. Haha jumps to his feet and exclaims, “Did you say this person is really participating?” adding, “How could I forget this voice?” Joo Woo-jae marveled, “So different, so different,” while Yoo Jae-suk, who had been lost in the song, said he never expected that person to show up.

More skilled contestants follow, from singers who freely control the beat to voices with unusual tone and vibrato, raising hopes for another successful music festival run on the show.

“Hangout with Yoo” has rolled out a string of music festivals: the 2021 “Top 10 Ears Concert,” the 2022 “Acorn Festival” and “WSG Wannabe Concert,” and the 2025 “‘80s Seoul Music Festival.” Last year’s ’80s edition was topped by Lee Juck and Lee Jun-young, who earned praise with their covers of Cho Yong-pil’s “Mona Lisa” and Park Nam-jung’s “Hoping for You.”

No official statement was available about the identity of the legendary contestant, which means viewers will have to watch tonight’s broadcast to find out.
