Former After School member and actress Nana’s agency has issued a lengthy official statement condemning the man who broke into her home last year, as his appeal verdict is scheduled for October 22.
On October 21, Sublime stated that Nana and her mother suffered serious harm last November when a man armed with a weapon entered their home. The agency said the investigation proved the crime, and the first trial court found the defendant guilty of robbery resulting in bodily injury.
Sublime said the defendant has shown no sincere remorse, repeating what it called the “clearly false” claim that he entered the home without a weapon, despite numerous pieces of evidence and witnesses. The agency also said he has been sending letters to broadcasters and media outlets claiming he was wronged, causing confusion and inflicting continued secondary harm on the victims.
According to Sublime, the defendant also countersued Nana for attempted murder and robbery, prompting Nana to immediately sue him for false accusation. The agency said investigators conducted witness interviews and a forensic examination of his phone, and concluded that “all of the defendant’s claims were clearly false,” leading to his indictment for false accusation.
The agency also revealed that the trial uncovered additional crimes committed by the defendant, noting that the prosecutor said he had “rarely seen a person who committed such a diverse range of crimes” in his 20 years of work.
At the final appellate hearing on September 17, prosecutors sought a 10-year prison sentence. The appeal verdict will be delivered on October 22.
