Charlie Puth has reached the top of his own “staircase” in Korea. The American singer-producer played his career-first stadium solo concert on October 11 at Goyang Stadium’s main stadium, drawing a crowd of around 38,000 for his fifth solo concert in the country.
According to Newsis’s on-site report, the night was exactly 10 years after Puth’s first Korean solo concert, and the venue list reads like a growth chart: a roughly 1,000-seat hall in 2016, Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium’s 17,000 seats in 2018, the KSPO Dome’s 45,000 over three days in 2023, Gocheok Sky Dome’s 50,000 in 2024, and now a stadium that has also hosted Coldplay, Oasis, and The Weeknd.
The headline surprise was TWICE’s Nayeon. Puth had teased “I have a surprise” in Korean on social media three days earlier, and the reveal came during “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” where Nayeon took Selena Gomez’s part in a clean vocal blend with Puth. It was her second appearance at this stadium — she previously guested at Coldplay’s Korea concert there in April last year.
K-pop ties ran through the night. After performing “Left and Right,” Puth told the crowd, “This is my song with Jungkook. I’m especially thankful to him.” At the piano, he turned reflective: “Being honest with your emotions is a really good thing.”
Puth opened with “Beat Yourself Up” and “How Long” and closed the encore with “See You Again,” capping a decade that began in a 1,000-seat club.
