December member DK turned an old insecurity into comedy gold on KBS2’s “Immortal Songs,” revealing that his stylist once blamed his face for a failed pictorial shoot.
According to TV Daily’s report of the October 10 broadcast — a special honoring hit composer Park Geun-tae — DK and KCM reminisced about their early days before taking the competition stage.
DK recalled that back when he was promoting with December, he had a magazine pictorial where “the visuals just didn’t come out well.” When the CEO scolded the stylist to dress the group better, the stylist shot back: “The problem is the kids’ faces.” The confession turned the set into a sea of laughter.
DK added that he offered to “get something done” about his face, only for the CEO to wave him off: “Compared to KCM, you’re a prince.” KCM wasn’t about to lose the exchange — “On the contrary, the CEO told me I’m better than the December members,” he retorted, drawing another round of laughs.
KCM also revealed his own history with the night’s honoree. He once passed the audition to join SG Wannabe, but after composer Park heard him sing, he was steered toward a solo debut instead — a decision that produced his debut song “Arayo.” The duo then performed SG Wannabe’s “Timeless,” which they introduced as “a song that moves men’s hearts.”
Two veteran vocalists, one playful war of words — and a reminder that even seasoned singers once got roasted by their own stylists.
