Broadcaster Do Kyung Wan stepped back into KBS for the first time in five years and seven months, and the homecoming got him emotional.

On October 10, Do uploaded a video to his YouTube channel DojangTV titled “Visiting My Home Station After 5 Years and 7 Months,” documenting the day he returned to KBS, according to Sports Kyunghyang.

“My heart felt fluttery. Today is the day I go to work at KBS, the company I left, after five years and seven months,” he said, admitting he almost never visited the Yeouido area since resigning.

Standing at the KBS annex, he confessed mixed feelings: “I submitted my resignation from this company with my own feet, so coming back felt a bit apologetic. But it’s been so long. It’s really unchanged.”

Before leaving KBS, Do was the inaugural MC of KBS 2TV’s “Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant,” and the show’s team welcomed its original MC back in style with balloons and a banner reading, “Congratulations! The Original MC’s Fun-Staurant Comeback! A Full Welcome for Good-Chef Do Kyung Wan.”

He also explained his “Good-Chef” nickname: fans sent him photos of lookalike chef Sohn Jong Won, famous as the “neujot chef.” “To avoid copying, I dropped one syllable and became Good-Chef,” he laughed.

After the shoot, Do said, “This is why people call it their home station,” and went for chicken with fellow former KBS colleagues. The husband of singer Jang Yoon Jung appears back on friendly terms with the broadcaster where his career began.
