Former BIGBANG member Seungri is reportedly about to become a father, with a new Korean media report claiming that his non-celebrity girlfriend is pregnant and expected to give birth early next year.
According to Herald Muse, citing an exclusive report published on October 27, the woman, identified only as A and said to be in her 20s, is currently pregnant and is due to give birth to a son in January. The report added that Seungri and A have already prepared a newlywed home in Seoul’s Gangnam district and plan to hold a wedding ceremony after the birth.
No official statement was available from Seungri’s side at the time of the report. Herald Muse noted that Seungri’s representatives had not issued an official position on the claims, which means the reported pregnancy, the January due date, and the wedding plans all remain unconfirmed for now.
The report marks the latest major personal-life headline for the former BIGBANG member, whose career ended abruptly in 2019. That year, Seungri announced his retirement from the entertainment industry after being named a central figure in the so-called Burning Sun scandal, a controversy that dominated Korean entertainment news and effectively closed his chapter as an active idol.
He was later tried on a total of nine charges, including habitual gambling, prostitution mediation, and embezzlement. South Korea’s Supreme Court confirmed a prison sentence of one year and six months, and Seungri was released in February 2023 after serving his term.
More recently, Seungri has also faced a separate legal allegation. He was sued over a special assault charge after allegedly assaulting a man in his 30s while dining together at a restaurant in Seoul’s Gangnam district. According to the report, Seungri admitted holding a soju bottle during the incident but denied swinging it at the other man or threatening him.
For now, the pregnancy report rests solely on the media account cited by Herald Muse, with no confirmation from Seungri himself. Until he or his representatives comment, details such as the wedding date and any further plans remain unknown, and the story is likely to stay under close scrutiny given his high-profile past.
