Girls’ Generation’s Choi Sooyoung and veteran actress Lee Jung-eun will play a mother and daughter in KBS2’s new weekend drama ‘학교 다녀왔습니다’ (‘I Went to School’).

According to Ten Asia, the production announced the casting on October 13, confirming Lee Jung-eun, Choi Sooyoung, Lee Sung-jae, Jeon Sung-woo, and Kang Seung-yoon for the drama. The story follows Yoon Ok-hee, played by Lee Jung-eun, as she challenges college admission late in life and rediscovers the meaning of family.

Lee Jung-eun plays Yoon Ok-hee, a neighborhood caretaker who runs an instant tteokbokki shop while pursuing her second act. ‘As this is my first KBS weekend drama in a long while, I will work hard to show you a good side of me,’ she said.

Choi Sooyoung plays her daughter Kang Eun-ho, a radio PD who prioritizes realistic judgment over emotion and speaks her mind, while cheering on her mother’s new challenge from the closest seat. ‘I was a fan of Lee Jung-eun, so just working with her feels exciting and I am grateful,’ Choi said.

Lee Sung-jae plays Yoon’s husband and former boxer Kang Ji-cheol in his first KBS weekend drama, Jeon Sung-woo plays KMS announcer Han Seung-woo, and Kang Seung-yoon plays the eldest son Kang Joon, a serial entrepreneur bringing a ‘boxing diet program’ to his father’s gym.

The drama follows ‘Love Is Coming’ and is scheduled to air in the first half of 2027.
