Running Man’s Heo Kyung-hwan is getting a second shot at redemption in the kitchen — and it’s already going sideways.
According to an MBC Entertainment preview of the October 11 episode, the SBS variety show’s 1-night, 2-day trip to Cheorwon wraps up with the cast cooking dinner themselves, following last week’s bingo race through the region’s autumn sights.
Heo Kyung-hwan was put in charge of yangnyeom chicken, but the members were skeptical from the start. During last year’s 1-night, 2-day shoot in Tongyeong, his braised fish left the cast horrified — a track record that earned him zero trust this time around.
Determined to clear his name, Heo picked up the knife with confidence, only to clash with Yang Se-chan over the recipe at every step. The bickering escalated into a full-blown “chicken war,” with Yang’s provocations and Heo’s refusal to back down turning the kitchen into a standoff.
Then came the oil. The pair failed to control the frying temperature, and the chicken came out burned black — putting Heo’s redemption arc in jeopardy almost immediately.
The chaos didn’t stop there. Ji Suk-jin, known as the show’s “official rice cook,” couldn’t even get the rice right, sinking the dinner prep deeper into what the preview calls “total chaos.”
Will the members salvage the meal and finish the dinner table? The episode airs October 11 at 6 PM KST on SBS.
