Imija Comforts Kim Yong-Bin Over Canceled Concert as Shim Soo-Bong Apologizes to Kim Da-Hyun cover

Singer Kim Yong-bin revealed on the October 11 broadcast of KBS2’s “Boss in the Mirror” that veteran singer Imija personally reached out to comfort him after his September concert was canceled — a show that had sold out every seat in one minute.

According to TenAsia, Kim brought up the canceled concert while chatting with staff on the program, then shared a KakaoTalk message from Imija. The message was shown on screen too.

“Yong-bin. I heard about the concert news. No one rises to success without any problems. It will surely turn into a blessing in disguise, so don’t be disappointed,” Imija wrote. She added that he should prepare himself for many trials and joys to come, and predicted: “Based on my past experience, Yong-bin will hold a bigger, more wonderful concert at an even better venue. Fighting.”

Cast member Park Myung-soo reacted in surprise: “I’m really grateful. How could she say such things?” Kim Yong-bin said Imija was the singer his grandmother loved most.

The warm gesture stood in contrast to fellow veteran Shim Soo-bong, who had recently drawn backlash for publicly saying on stage at a trot festival in Jinan that 17-year-old singer Kim Da-hyun did not know “what a song or life is.” Shim later apologized, saying she had “nothing to say even with ten mouths,” while Kim Da-hyun posted that she had spoken with Shim directly and received her apology and warm comfort.

With Imija’s blessing, Kim Yong-bin’s next stage may well be that bigger one.
