LACHICA choreographer Shimizu has showered IVE’s Wonyoung with praise, and the details show she has been watching the idol very closely.
Appearing on the October 10 broadcast of MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ (전지적 참견 시점) alongside Hwang Jae-gyun, Shimizu shared her member-by-member directing notes for IVE. On Wonyoung, she said: “Wonyoung has the charm to turn everything into a killing part. She does an incredible amount of research,” adding that even the same move feels completely different when Wonyoung’s turn comes.
She did not stop there. Yujin, she said, likes bold and refreshing moves that match her cool personality. Leeseo is transitioning into a more mature image as an adult. Rei, with a charm that blends cuteness and sexiness, gets iconic, eye-catching moves placed for her. Liz has pretty lines and strong bounce, while Gaeul brings hip sensibility with extremely precise movements — a member she can trust completely.
According to the broadcast, Shimizu has been IVE’s go-to choreographer since ‘LOVE DIVE.’ She visited in person to teach lessons during ‘I AM,’ and has since taken charge of directing their music video shoots and awards show stages. “I’ve been with them for over five years, so I roughly know everything,” she said.
The segment offered a rare look at the quiet, long-term trust between a choreographer and the group she has shaped since their breakout era.
