Writer Jang Jung-yoon made an unexpected runway debut at an André Kim fashion show, closing the finale as a surprise model — alongside her actor husband Kim Seung-hyun.
According to TenAsia, the couple told the story in an October 11 video on their family YouTube channel ‘Gwangsan Kim Family,’ filmed at the André Kim building.
Jang said she was first asked a few months ago but declined. She has no personal connection to André Kim, is not a model, and felt embarrassed and pressured — ‘not just anyone gets on that runway,’ she said, fearing she would spoil the stage. Then, after a long silence, a sudden call summoned her for a fitting, and she learned she and Kim Seung-hyun would walk the show within days.
Kim Seung-hyun said the couple had been invited as special guests — ‘an honor for the family.’ Jang, still stunned, said she suddenly had to walk ‘the day after tomorrow.’ But after rehearsing on an empty stage, her nerves flipped: she felt ‘like the main character of my life,’ with her ‘dopamine exploding.’
On show day, the pair closed the finale as the final models, and Jang walked without a single mistake. Fans recognized Kim Seung-hyun and asked for photos, while Jang jokingly grumbled with jealousy as dressed-up attendees slipped off their coats: ‘What? They’re just slipping their coats right off?’
Kim Seung-hyun married Jang in 2020, and the couple welcomed their second daughter in 2024. Kim is also father to daughter Subin.
