Jang Won-young Earns Praise from Choreographer Shimizu for Turning Every Move into a Killing Part on 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' cover

IVE’s Jang Won-young is collecting yet another round of industry praise — this time from her own choreographer.

On the October 10 broadcast of MBC’s ā€˜Point of Omniscient Interfere’ (전지적 참견 ģ‹œģ ), La Chica member Shimizu appeared to share her daily life and break down each IVE member’s choreography style. Shimizu has served as IVE’s dedicated performance director for three years, according to a report by ģ—‘ģŠ¤ķ¬ģø ė‰“ģŠ¤ (Xports News).

ā€œI’ve been with IVE for over five years, so I know exactly what they like and dislike,ā€ Shimizu said confidently during the show.

When it came to Won-young, her words stood out: ā€œWon-young tends to turn everything into a killing part. I think that’s because she researches so well.ā€ She explained that even when performing the same move, Won-young studies it to the fullest to give it a different feel once it’s her moment.

Shimizu also gave quick reads on the other members: Yujin prefers a cool, straightforward style; Leeseo is going for a more mature image; Rei mixes cute and sexy reversals with iconic moves; Liz’s pretty lines suit bouncy choreography; and Gaeul leans toward hip concepts.

This is not the first time industry insiders have sung Won-young’s praises. Last month, a video of her helping the camera director with members’ stage routes spread online, drawing compliments from a commenter claiming to be a staff member. In July, an advertiser’s thank-you notes praised her steady professionalism.

With choreographers, staff, and advertisers alike in her corner, Won-young’s reputation as one of K-pop’s most diligent performers keeps growing.
