Broadcaster Jang Young-ran’s popularity turned a routine school visit into a fan meeting. The TV personality attended her daughter Ji-woo’s middle school open class and was mobbed by students asking for autographs.

According to a Mydaily report, the scene played out in a video posted on October 7 to Jang’s YouTube channel “A급 장영란.” Jang showed up in a chic all-black look — black shirt, shorts, and long boots.

“I’m so busy today. I dressed up like this because of Ji-woo’s parent observation class,” she said, adding that a stylist at Dongdaemun picked out the outfit. “Since I’m wearing it, doesn’t it look like it costs 2 million won? It’s a bit edgy,” she joked.

When the crew teased her about being a “pushy mom,” Jang laughed it off, saying she only went because Ji-woo asked her to. The footage showed her surrounded by layers of students, one autograph request after another. “They made a huge fuss asking me to sign things. I couldn’t get to all of them,” she said. “I couldn’t sign everything because we had to film,” she added with a laugh.

Born in 1978, Jang debuted as an Mnet VJ in 2001 and married Korean medicine doctor Han Chang in 2009. The couple has two children: daughter Ji-woo, now a middle school freshman, and son Jun-woo. She is also active as a cosmetics business owner — on October 8, she announced via her personal account that her brand had landed in offline stores.
